The Queens
A large Victorian building renovated to a high standard with outstanding
views over the Solway firth to Scottish Hills.

The Sunsets across the water are fantastic.

You will be warmly welcomed by John and Sandra and looked after
with true Cumbrian hospitality. Situated in its own designated area
of outstanding natural beauty, on the edge of the northern lakes
and close the the Scottish borders Silloth makes a marvellous base
to explore the Roman glory of Hadrian's wall. Gretna Green on the
Scottish border and the Fells and Lakes of the Northern Lake District
are also with easy reach.
There are many golf courses in the area, the most famous being
Silloth on Solway Championship Golf Club which attracts golfers
from all over the world. This is an Idea base for a golfing holiday
and tuition can also be arranged should you wish to tune up your
game.
Silloth started life on or around 1150 when the monks from the
nearby Holm Cultram Abbey built their Sealaths here. The name evolved
down though the ages and became Silloth. Sealaths means grain store
by the sea and interestingly there is still a massive grain silo
here now, together with a flour mill.
